Quality Controller (Promotional Products)

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of promotional products, is seeking an experienced Quality Controller to oversee quality assurance across multiple factories. The role involves hands‑on inspections, managing third‑party testing and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and review test plans with third‑party laboratories for safety, regulatory and performance requirements of promotional items.
• Analyse lab test reports and bill of materials to confirm compliance and approve certifications.
• Conduct on‑site QC checks, in‑line inspections and final AQL inspections at supplier factories.
• Develop product‑specific inspection checklists and protocols for internal and external auditors.
• Lead factory audits, coach suppliers on corrective actions and follow up on inspection findings.
• Provide technical support for Chain of Custody and Declaration of Conformity documentation.
• Generate and maintain product specifications, test plans and inspection procedures.
• Perform preliminary failure analysis on field‑reported issues and track resolutions.
• Monitor global recall databases and integrate preventive checks into testing and inspection processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years experience working with third‑party labs in a customer support or service role.
• 2–3 years experience in a sourcing office handling hard goods and soft‑line promotional products.
• Proven track record of managing quality assurance programmes across multiple factories.
• Strong understanding of safety, regulatory and import certification requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with third‑party laboratory coordination and test plan development.
• Knowledge of AQL inspection methods and factory audit procedures.
• Familiarity with Chain of Custody (CoC) and Declaration of Conformity (DoC) documentation.
• Ability to create and review product specifications, test plans and inspection protocols.
• Proficiency in failure analysis and recall‑prevention strategies.
