Quality Assurance Manager (Food Safety)

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) based on FSSC 22000 and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards (OHSAS). Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate cross‑functional teams to maintain certifications, drive continuous improvement, and safeguard product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the FSSC 22000‑aligned Food Safety Management System.
• Develop, implement and monitor quality assurance procedures that integrate with production and quality control.
• Oversee the occupational health and safety system in line with OHSAS standards.
• Manage internal audit schedules, external audits by regulators, clients and suppliers, and corrective action plans.
• Lead training programmes on food safety, personnel safety and related topics.
• Ensure equipment calibration and validation studies are performed regularly.
• Verify compliance with local and international regulations and maintain accreditation status.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Technology, Food Science or a related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in the food and/or beverage industry, specifically managing a food safety system.
• Formal training in auditing and food safety certification programmes.
• Proven ability to work independently, organise projects and interface across functions.
• Strong staff‑management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Office.
• Practical knowledge of the FSSC 22000 standard.
• Understanding of OHSAS occupational health and safety requirements.
