Qualified Welder - Boilershop

About the role

The Boilershop department is looking for a hardworking, dedicated Qualified Welder to repair and maintain structures, equipment and machinery. The welder works alongside the Boilermakers and reports to the Engineering Maintenance Manager. The position is permanent, with standard hours of 07h30-17h00 Monday to Thursday and 07h30-16h00 on Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Repair existing components accurately and neatly, in the workshop and onsite
• Work together with the Boilermakers and be proficient in all forms of welding
• Keep the workshop and onsite workspace neat and tidy

Required profile

• Relevant trade test certificate in Welding (no coding)
• 5-8 years' experience in a similar steel or industrial environment
• Experience in pipe welding, copper, brazing, silver soldering and cast steel
• Proficiency in Mig, Tig gas and SMAW welding
• Knowledge of health and safety rules and ability to work under challenging conditions
• Available for overtime, weekends, and the December and Easter shutdowns
• Physically fit, able to work at heights and in confined spaces, and able to work independently and in a team
