QA/QC Officer – Access, Insulation & Coatings (6 positions)

About the role

Sasol Secunda is looking for six experienced QA/QC Officers to lead quality assurance and control for Access (scaffolding), Insulation (hot & cold) and Protective Coatings activities. You will act as the gatekeeper of technical excellence, ensuring all work complies with Sasol’s safety, operational and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all Access, Insulation and Coating work packages.
• Maintain comprehensive item lists for inspection and testing activities.
• Conduct hands‑on inspections and surveillance audits of scaffold erection, insulation application and coating systems.
• Verify that materials, workmanship and installations meet approved drawings, safety standards and technical specifications (NACE, ISO, SANS).
• Identify, document and resolve non‑conformances (NCRs) using root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain accurate, auditable QA/QC records, inspection reports and material certifications.
• Prepare quality performance dashboards and trend reports for management.
• Support safety management by integrating quality processes with HSI standards and participating in pre‑job planning, risk assessments and hazard identification.

Required profile

• Highly skilled and detail‑oriented QA/QC professional with experience in scaffolding, insulation (hot & cold) and protective coating activities.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and ability to work collaboratively with service providers and maintenance teams.
• Proactive planner with a focus on reliability, cost‑effectiveness and a zero‑defect culture.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NACE, ISO and SANS standards.
• Experience creating and managing Quality Control Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Root‑cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Hands‑on inspection and audit skills for scaffolding, insulation and coating systems.
• Ability to maintain detailed QA/QC documentation and generate performance reports.
