QA Analyst (Microbiology)

About the role

We are looking for a QA Analyst to improve the quality of our brewing products by conducting microbiological sampling, analysis, and hygiene control throughout the production chain. The role involves troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and supporting staff to maintain high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform consistent microbiological sampling and analysis in line with Heineken laboratory standards.
• Maintain laboratory information systems and ensure timely reporting to avoid production delays.
• Implement and monitor hygiene systems, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, and prepare culture media.
• Liaise with suppliers, manage purchasing of goods and services related to microbiology.
• Analyse customer surveys and complaints to drive product and process improvements.
• Identify root causes of quality issues, conduct troubleshooting and initiate corrective actions.
• Coach brewing, utilities and packaging staff on basic hygiene and food‑safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, OHS regulations and promote a zero‑accident safety culture.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a brewing‑industry microbiology laboratory, including operational responsibilities.

Required skills

• Microbiological sampling and analysis techniques.
• Laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance and verification.
• Use of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Media preparation for microbiological testing.
• Lean Six Sigma (LSS) compliance.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
