Public Relations and Events Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Public Relations and Events Specialist to join a leading South African Development Finance Institution. Based in Johannesburg, you will help shape the organisation’s public image, manage high‑impact corporate events and strengthen stakeholder communications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute media relations strategies to secure coverage in target outlets.
• Plan, organise and deliver corporate events, conferences and stakeholder gatherings.
• Craft executive profiles, press releases, speeches and other communication materials.
• Manage relationships with journalists, influencers and key external partners.
• Monitor brand reputation and provide insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in public relations, corporate communications and event management.
• Proven ability to engage media and coordinate large‑scale events.
• Experience in government, development finance or corporate environments is an advantage.
