Proposals Engineer – Durban (2 positions)

About the role

CK Africa Talent is recruiting on behalf of a leading industrial boiler and heavy‑engineering manufacturer for two experienced Proposals Engineers to join their Durban team. The role focuses on preparing technically compliant, commercially competitive proposals, cost estimates and tenders for complex industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and compile technically compliant proposals and cost estimates.
• Review RFQs, specifications, commercial conditions and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments, suppliers and customers throughout the tender process.
• Prepare detailed pricing schedules, project timelines and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Maintain proposal databases, tender records and follow up on submitted tenders.
• Support sales targets and departmental profitability objectives.

Required profile

• BTech/BSc or National Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience in a project‑based engineering environment, preferably with industrial water‑tube boilers or heavy engineering.
• Strong academic background in Mathematics, Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials and Technical Drawing.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to be based in Durban.
