Project/Construction Manager – Petrochemical Site

About the role

We are looking for a Project/Construction Manager to lead daily construction activities on a petrochemical site in Cape Town. The role involves ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance while coordinating a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports and maintain up‑to‑date project documentation.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and project plans to guide on‑site work.
• Plan, schedule and monitor construction progress against milestones, adjusting resources as needed.
• Coordinate with engineering, HSE and project management teams to resolve technical issues and delays.
• Manage the construction team, including supervisors, team leaders and subcontractors.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop method statements and other HSE documentation.
• Control site materials, tools and equipment and ensure accurate BOQ quantity verification.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant engineering or construction discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or site management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in petrochemical or industrial projects and HSE or construction certifications is an advantage.

• Bill of Quantities (BOQ) analysis and quantity tracking.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R30 000 to R50 000 per month.
