Project Manager: Wi‑Fi Refresh

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a 12‑month remote contract delivering a Wi‑Fi refresh across approximately 450 UK dental surgeries. The role is delivery‑heavy, customer‑facing and requires keeping clinical and payment systems running while replacing around 750 access points.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end rollout plan for ~450 sites, defining phases and priorities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client, chair cadence calls and manage escalations.
• Control scope and change, including AP replacement, Ekahau validation surveys and per‑site documentation.
• Coordinate a four‑engineer field team and any subcontractors, pairing AP swaps with surveys where possible.
• Enforce minimal downtime, pre‑agree outage windows and confirm UAT for each site.
• Maintain a RAID log, site‑by‑site status tracking and regular reporting to management.

Required profile

• Proven technical project management experience on multi‑site network or Wi‑Fi rollouts.
• Experience managing field engineers, cabling partners and subcontractors.
• Strong multi‑site planning, scheduling and risk/issue management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client updates and change control.
• Highly organised, pragmatic and commercially aware.

Required skills

• Wi‑Fi standards knowledge (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz) and SSID configuration.
• Cisco Meraki Catalyst and MR access point platforms.
• Ekahau survey and validation tools.
• AP pre‑staging, firmware checks and 6 GHz enablement.
• Risk, issue and RAID log management.
• Outage coordination for clinical environments.
