Project Manager - Township Automotive Hubs

About the role

AIDC, a government-owned public entity supporting the South African automotive industry, is recruiting a Project Manager for its Township Automotive Hubs Department on a three-year fixed-term contract with a three-month probation. The post reports directly to the Programme Manager: Township Automotive Hubs and is based at the Automotive Supplier Park offices in Rosslyn and Satellite.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate projects so they meet timeframes, funding parameters, technical requirements and customer expectations
• Develop project plans, charters, budgets, milestones and resource requirements, and obtain stakeholder sign-off
• Implement tasks, oversee staff and other resources, manage procurement and project risk, and document evidence of closed risks
• Manage the project budget on Maconomy, update scorecards, file delivery evidence, write close-out reports and prepare inputs to the annual report
• Track progress, report monthly, quarterly and annually, present at project review meetings and raise budget deviation requests
• Develop proposals and feasibility studies, identify and engage clients, represent the brand at industry forums, seminars and events, and market the services
• Manage stakeholder, funder and client relationships and maintain SLAs
• Manage staff, run performance planning sessions, compile performance documentation and conduct performance reviews

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a National Diploma in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years' experience in projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment
• Supply chain exposure is an advantage
