Project Manager – IT Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the planning and delivery of IT projects in line with the AGSA Project Management Framework and related standards. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Business Enablers, the incumbent will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and scope.

Key responsibilities

• Create, execute, and adjust IT project plans to meet changing requirements.
• Review and analyse project proposals for timelines, funding limits, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
• Identify and schedule deliverables, milestones, and activities; implement communication plans.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor cross‑project dependencies.
• Benchmark project performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead project teams by assigning responsibilities, establishing work plans, and supporting recruitment.
• Direct and coordinate project personnel to keep work on schedule and within budget.
• Review and approve work plans of external service providers and consultancy contracts.
• Prepare for engagement and quality‑assurance reviews; maintain complete and approved project documentation.

Required profile

• Experience contributing to the management of IT projects within an organizational environment.
• Ability to support strategic initiatives such as Balanced Scorecard implementation.
• Strong leadership skills for assigning duties, coordinating team activities, and overseeing external partners.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing project status reports, schedules, and delivery commitments.
