Project Manager – 12-Month Contract

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale banking transformation initiatives in Johannesburg. This 12‑month contract role focuses on meeting strict deadlines, budgets, and quality standards while aligning outcomes with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle, ensuring scope, timeline, budget, and quality targets are met.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and consultants to maintain clear communication and alignment.
• Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, applying mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and report progress, financials, milestones, and KPIs to sponsors and senior leadership.
• Drive adoption of solutions and ensure they support strategic and operational goals.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of project/program management experience, with at least 5 years in banking or financial services.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale transformation projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field.
