Project Engineering Manager – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role

Amazon Logistics is seeking a Project Engineering Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to lead mission‑critical engineering and facilities initiatives across its rapidly expanding UK network. The role will drive large‑scale transformation projects from concept to completion, including new site launches, facility optimisations, and strategic infrastructure developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and external vendors to develop optimal solutions for the logistical network, covering equipment specifications and Delivery Station layouts.
• Manage capital projects, preparing conceptual designs, equipment specifications and bid documentation for competitive tendering.
• Monitor on‑site installation schedules and vendor quality, enforcing compliance with material handling equipment (MHE) standards.
• Inspect prospective and completed facilities, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and managing snagging lists and warranty work.
• Develop and control budgets, RFPs, change orders, purchase orders and invoicing for multiple installation sites.
• Collaborate with local site management to ensure operator training, procedural compliance and maintenance practices for new and existing MHE.
• Create, submit and track CAPEX documentation to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Work closely with Real Estate, IT, Process, Software and Operations Integration teams to guarantee timely project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience designing and implementing integrated automation solutions such as material handling systems, high‑speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines.
• Proven technical leadership on large‑scale, complex technology projects.
• Knowledge of German regulatory compliance and statutory requirements where applicable.
