Project Engineer – Wind & BESS Development

About the role

The Project Engineer will manage and drive wind modelling and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) components for wind farm development from inception through to construction start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Produce wind turbine layouts and energy estimates for project managers and executives across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with lenders and advisors to ensure wind data and energy numbers are bankable.
• Conduct site visits to assess turbine and monitoring locations and coordinate on‑site services such as monitoring campaigns, geotechnical and other engineering activities.
• Support development approvals including noise assessments, visual impact studies, mapping and layout preparation.
• Manage monitoring equipment, troubleshoot failures and arrange maintenance.
• Provide GIS mapping and support for regional projects.
• Undertake BESS modelling, hybrid project sizing and related analysis.
• Assist the development team with additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree (B.Eng or BSc(Eng)).
• Minimum three years of experience in wind energy assessment.
• Strong ethical standards, collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, travel frequently to sites and adapt to flexible working hours.
• High attention to detail, commercial acumen and problem‑solving orientation.
