About the role
The Programmer III is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high‑complexity software systems. Working closely with Solution Architects, Functional Analysts, and development teams, the role ensures that code meets the Shoprite SDLC and programming standards while delivering reliable, high‑performance solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Write, modify, refactor, debug, troubleshoot, and test new and existing applications of large scale.
- Collaborate with architects and analysts to apply design patterns, libraries, and frameworks throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Lead technical aspects of large, complex projects, providing guidance on architecture and implementation.
- Mentor junior developers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience in software development on complex, high‑scale systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills for mentoring and stakeholder interaction.
