Programme Delivery Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading insurance and financial services provider operating in Johannesburg and Cape Town, is looking for a Programme Delivery Manager on a contract basis. The role will drive the end‑to‑end delivery of new insurance products and the enabling capabilities across multiple business and technology workstreams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated programme delivery roadmaps aligned with strategic objectives.
• Coordinate concurrent business, operational and technology workstreams, ensuring seamless integration.
• Lead the implementation of new insurance products, facilitating workshops and solution discussions.
• Translate strategic goals into executable delivery plans and monitor progress.
• Manage programme governance, RAID logs, reporting and Steering Committee updates.
• Oversee technology development, system integration, testing and business readiness activities.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence delivery across organisations.
• Apply Agile delivery principles to manage risks, dependencies and ensure successful product launches.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management certification; Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe, AgilePM) is advantageous.
• 8‑10+ years of experience delivering complex business and technology programmes, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Proven experience in new product development, business analysis, requirements gathering and process analysis.
• Strong governance, planning and executive reporting experience in Agile or hybrid environments.
