Program Manager

About the role

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) South Africa is looking for a highly organised Program Manager to drive the planning, coordination and delivery of its strategic institutional programmes and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, implementation and reporting of institutional programmes, ensuring deliverables meet organisational objectives.
• Manage grant administration, monitor compliance, prepare funder reports and support fundraising proposal development.
• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, government departments and partner organisations; coordinate partnership activities and agreements.
• Support the design and operation of monitoring and evaluation systems, compile programme reports and assist with impact assessments.
• Provide secretariat support to the AIMS Trust and Council, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minute taking and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in programme or project management, preferably in higher education, research administration or the non‑profit sector.
• Strong organisational, planning and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
