Professional Nurse – Medical ICU

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Professional Nurse specialised in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to deliver safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care in line with the professional scope of practice. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to support critically ill patients and ensure a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Essential education: Degree or Diploma in General Nursing.
• Desired education: Midwifery qualification or postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty.
• Essential experience: None.
• Desired experience: Minimum of 1 year post‑graduate qualification experience in a specialised unit.
