Pharmacist – Bloemfontein (Full-time)

About the role

Our client is seeking a qualified pharmacist to lead a pharmacy in Bloemfontein, Free State. The position offers a salary commensurate with experience and standard Monday‑to‑Friday hours (08:00‑17:00).

Key responsibilities

• Accept overall legal responsibility for pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Implement, maintain and monitor Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards.
• Supervise and manage pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, assistants and support personnel.
• Oversee safe procurement, storage, handling and distribution of medicines, including scheduled substances.
• Maintain accurate stock control, monitor expiry dates and prevent losses.
• Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures and ensure staff training and competency.

Required profile

• BPharm or equivalent pharmacy degree.
• Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Experience in retail, hospital or industrial pharmacy settings.
• Strong knowledge of South African pharmacy legislation and controlled medicines regulations.

Required skills

• Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) implementation.
• South African pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Controlled medicines (Schedules 4‑6) compliance.
