Professional Nurse – Care Expert Navigator

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Professional Nurse to act as a Care Expert Navigator. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care and coordinate patient journeys across the continuum of care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive client experience by creating a supportive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Promote staff competence through a learning environment.
• Ensure proper documentation and management of stock and equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR a 4‑year Nursing Diploma/Bachelor of Nursing.
• Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery or specialised Nursing Diploma (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Care) is desirable for specialist units.
• No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.

Required skills

• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) for specialised wards.
• Computer literacy – proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to develop and modify nursing care plans.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control.
• Competence in nursing processes, procedures and record keeping.
• Strong patient assessment skills.
• Understanding of pharmacology and relevant nursing legislation.
• Risk identification and scientific nursing principles.
