Production & Warehouse Controller – Ballito

About the role

The Production and Warehouse Controller will oversee the entire production department at our Ballito facility, ensuring that output meets quality standards and delivery timelines. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will coordinate staff, manage schedules, and act as the first line of support for machinery issues.

Key responsibilities

• Implement standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including PPE usage.
• Maintain production schedules at least two days in advance and update them minimum four times daily.
• Monitor machine performance, conduct maintenance checks, and coordinate first‑line troubleshooting with the technical team.
• Manage staff shifts, overtime, and incentives for a team of at least 15 employees.
• Control inventory of blades, consumables, and storage areas to meet a 2‑3 day order lead time.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification; mechanical or technical qualifications are advantageous.
• At least 2 years of experience in a production supervisory or controller role, preferably in the woodworking industry.
• Proven ability to lead a team of 15+ staff and work under pressure.
• Good physical health and ability to read/write in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
• Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Basic technical understanding of production machinery (advantageous).
