Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor provides management support within the Production department and manages employees and day-to-day operations. The post reports to the Production Manager and is a permanent position with standard hours.

Key responsibilities

• Manage timesheet and attendance records and motivate the team
• Check that all machinery and equipment are safe and in good working order and report faults to the relevant departments
• Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and operational requirements are processed with the team
• Facilitate Health & Safety Toolbox Talks and ensure PPE regulations are followed before work begins
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including the department's safety file
• Keep employee written task procedures up to date and explain them so employees understand them
• Ensure operators hold the necessary licences and permits and attend to general housekeeping

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience
• Willingness to work overtime and night shifts as required
• Advantageous: previous experience in a physically demanding environment
• Sound communication skills in English, time management and organisational skills, ability to work independently and within a team
