Production Manager - Meat Processing

About the role

A well‑established meat processing and manufacturing company on the West Rand, Gauteng, is seeking an experienced Production Manager. You will oversee daily factory operations, ensure food safety and quality standards, lead production teams, and drive efficiency in a high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and supervise daily production activities to meet targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines.
• Lead, develop and motivate production staff, monitoring efficiency and implementing continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, hygiene, health & safety, and other food‑safety regulations.
• Manage production schedules, labour allocation and resource planning.
• Monitor product quality, minimise waste and control production costs.
• Liaise with Maintenance, Quality and Warehouse departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Investigate production issues, implement corrective actions and compile regular production reports.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) minimum; relevant qualification in Production Management, Operations Management, Food Technology or related field is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of production management experience in meat processing or food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality management systems.
• Proven ability to lead high‑volume production teams and work under pressure.

What we offer

• Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 CTC per month (depending on experience)
