Product Sourcer – Identify New High‑Potential Products

About the role

GeeWiz is looking for a commercially‑minded Product Sourcer to identify and introduce new, high‑potential products to expand its online range. The role involves researching international product trends, assessing suitability for the South African market, comparing local competitor pricing, and preparing viable products for listing on geewiz.co.za.

Key responsibilities

• Research overseas e‑commerce sites, marketplaces, supplier catalogues and trend sources to uncover new product opportunities.
• Identify international best‑sellers, emerging trends and product categories that could perform well in South Africa.
• Analyse local competitors’ product availability, specifications and pricing.
• Assess potential products against GeeWiz pricing, margin and commercial requirements.
• Source accurate product information, including specifications, variants, supplier pricing, availability and lead times.
• Use Excel to prepare product costing, pricing and sourcing data.
• Assist in preparing product listings – names, descriptions, specifications, images and categories – for geewiz.co.za.
• Maintain clear records of sourced, approved and launched products and collaborate with purchasing and e‑commerce teams.

Required profile

• Strong online research skills and confidence using international websites, marketplaces and supplier platforms.
• Good understanding of e‑commerce, product trends, competitor analysis and online pricing.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational abilities and written English communication.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and identify commercially viable opportunities.
