Product Planner

About the role

Our client, a leading fashion retailer in Cape Town, is seeking a self‑motivated Product Planner to join the merchandising team. The role focuses on translating business plans into actionable assortment and replenishment strategies that drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental business plans aligned with the SBU’s merchandise strategy.
• Manage forecasts to meet agreed growth and profitability targets.
• Prepare and present assortment plans that support the signed‑off business strategy.
• Ensure sufficient inflows and maintain service levels for seasonal and non‑seasonal replenishment.
• Provide accurate merchandise information to minimise risk and capture opportunities.
• Execute and monitor project plans where applicable.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate (essential) with a B.Com/B.Sc degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Science or a relevant National Diploma.
• 4‑5 years of product planning experience in retail or FMCG environments.
• Strong commercial thinking, analytical and logical problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Resilience, agility and the ability to perform under pressure.
