Procurement Officer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

The Procurement Officer will support the TGP Manager and the local entity in managing contracts and procurement activities for TotalEnergies Renewables Southern Africa’s growing portfolio of wind, solar PV and battery storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical teams to build contract dossiers, define contractual responsibilities and validate contract strategies.
• Adapt standard templates to local conditions and provide professional advice to contract owners on contractual matters.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date list of qualified contractors, suppliers and potential bidders for market studies and analysis.
• Prepare and issue pre‑consultation dossiers, invitations to bid and ensure alignment with HSE clauses, company policies and applicable legislation.
• Conduct commercial bid analysis, negotiate terms and conditions, and support recommendations for award through Contracts Committee or DOA processes.
• Ensure compliance due‑diligence for suppliers in line with the Anti‑Corruption Policy and monitor best practices for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, contract management or related functions within the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Strong knowledge of local South African laws, regulations and anti‑corruption requirements.
• Ability to work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including technical, planning and market teams.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills with a focus on commercial and contractual risk management.
