Procurement Officer

About the role

The client, a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of heat exchangers, thermal equipment and process plants, is seeking a Procurement Officer to support its engineering and industrial operations. The role is based in Wynberg, Sandton and will work closely with engineering, project, maintenance and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations for engineering materials, components, tools and services.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Monitor order status, follow up with suppliers and keep contract managers informed of delivery timelines.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and related documentation.
• Compare supplier quotations and prepare cost analyses.
• Support vendor evaluation and onboarding processes.
• Coordinate procurement requirements across engineering, project management, maintenance and finance departments.
• Assist in inventory monitoring and replenishment planning.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
• Resolve routine procurement and supply‑related issues.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or supply chain functions.
• Background in engineering, manufacturing, construction, mining or other industrial environments is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing principles.
