Procurement & Contract Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Contract Manager to lead the end‑to‑end tender and procurement lifecycle for our logistics operations in Johannesburg. The role ensures strong governance, transparency and compliance with Socio‑Economic Development (SED) obligations while overseeing fleet and stock control functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full tender process from pre‑qualification through to contract signing.
• Conduct procurement in line with company Levels of Authority, corporate governance and policy.
• Establish procedures to guarantee that purchased goods meet technical and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with SED requirements, prepare monthly SED reports and monitor penalty regimes.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Incorporate tender terms and conditions into purchase contracts.
• Oversee sourcing and control of uniforms, consumables, branding/marketing goods and bulk purchases.
• Direct fleet control activities, advise on lease vs buy strategy and maintain appropriate insurance cover.
• Prepare and manage budgets for stock and fleet units.
• Lead and develop the team responsible for fleet and stock control.

Required profile

• BCom or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in procurement, fleet management and stock control.
• Proven experience leading a team within a fleet or stock control function.
• Project and change management experience.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and communication abilities.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence and fluent English.

• Competitive total cash compensation (CTC) between R800 000 and R900 000 per annum.
