Procurement Administrator – Johannesburg

About the role

Our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company in Modderfontein, Johannesburg, is looking for a Procurement Administrator to manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process for consumables and raw materials. The role will support production and warehouse teams by ensuring timely supply, optimal inventory levels and cost‑effective sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers; negotiate pricing, payment terms and contracts while monitoring performance.
• Place and track purchase orders, receive stock, and match purchase orders, delivery notes, GRNs and invoices for payment processing.
• Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels, oversee stock rotation and manage expiry dates.
• Work with production and operations to forecast demand and develop long‑term supply plans.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and produce regular reports on spend, supplier performance and inventory status.
• Coordinate with logistics, quality control and production to resolve supply‑chain issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a Diploma or Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Syspro ERP system.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
