Procurement Administrator

About the role

SA Metal Group, South Africa's oldest and largest metal recycling company, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Administrator to support and coordinate procurement activities in Cape Town. The role suits an organised, detail-oriented, process-driven person with strong administrative and communication skills, reporting to the National Procurement Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage procurement-related requests and transactions
• Maintain accurate supplier information and documentation
• Manage supplier applications, credit processes and approvals
• Process purchase orders, stock transactions, invoices and related documentation
• Maintain procurement reports, stock records and savings-related information
• Provide general administrative support to keep the procurement function running efficiently

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• At least 5 years' administrative experience in a similar procurement or supply chain role
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environments
• Strong command of English, with good written communication; basic understanding of other languages is an advantage
• Self-managing, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Fraxion and Accpac experience advantageous)
• Administration, procurement and organization

• Permanent position, standard hours 07h30-17h00 Monday to Thursday and 07h30-16h00 Friday, with possible overtime
