Private Banking Relationship Manager

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for a dynamic, results-driven Relationship Manager to join its Private Banking team in Hermanus. The role grows, manages and retains a portfolio of high-net-worth clients while delivering value through personalised financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth clients through tailored financial solutions, proactive engagement and excellent service.
• Carry out in-depth financial analysis, build personalised banking strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Analyse industry trends and the competitive landscape, and produce performance reports to support decisions and drive growth.

Required profile

• FAIS-aligned degree in Business, Commerce (NQF 7 or higher).
• FAIS Representative certification is mandatory.
• At least 7 years' experience in financial services, including 5-7 years in relationship management or private banking.
• Proven ability to analyse clients' financial needs, identify opportunities and deliver tailored solutions.
• Demonstrated success in client acquisition, retention and portfolio management within the high-net-worth segment.
• Experience structuring credit applications and facilitating complex lending, investment and offshore product offerings.

Required skills

• Understanding of banking processes, commercial acumen and consumer banking products.
• Financial acumen, risk identification and risk reporting.
• Behavioural competencies such as interpreting data, developing expertise, convincing people and establishing rapport.
