Principal Technology Governance Specialist (12‑month contract)

About the role

The Principal Specialist: Technology Governance ensures that technology operations, processes, and controls are reliable, compliant, and aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives. Acting as a bridge between technology, audit, risk, and compliance teams, the role drives framework adoption and provides independent assurance that technology services are well‑governed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reviews of critical technology services, programmes and vendors.
• Track technology performance and implement corrective measures.
• Evaluate adherence to IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001 and ITIL.
• Identify technology risks, control gaps and operational vulnerabilities.
• Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to define mitigation and remediation plans.
• Collaborate with technology leaders, risk owners and external auditors to ensure audit readiness.
• Promote governance, risk and compliance awareness across the organisation.
• Maintain technology resilience programmes and coordinate with Cyber Security and Legal teams.
• Establish and maintain an effective technology controls environment across all domains.
• Prepare governance dashboards for executive and board‑level review.
• Lead portfolio governance, financial and vendor management initiatives.
