Principal Specialist: Technology Governance

About the role

The Principal Specialist – Technology Governance will ensure that technology operations, processes and controls are reliable, compliant and aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives. Acting as a bridge between technology, audit, risk and compliance teams, you will drive framework adoption, provide independent assurance and align technology investments with business value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead governance and risk oversight for critical technology services, programs and vendors, tracking performance and implementing corrective measures.
• Evaluate adherence to IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001 and ITIL, identifying risks, control gaps and operational vulnerabilities.
• Partner with risk, compliance, cyber security and legal teams to define mitigation plans and ensure audit readiness.
• Maintain an effective technology controls environment across infrastructure, applications, data, cybersecurity and vendor management.
• Prepare governance dashboards and translate assurance findings into actionable insights for executive and board-level audiences.
• Collaborate with finance to monitor OPEX and CAPEX utilisation, creating portfolio dashboards for demand, spend, risk and performance visibility.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technology governance, risk management and compliance within a telecom or similar environment.
• Strong ability to work with senior technology leaders, risk owners and external auditors.
• Demonstrated capability to lead resilience programmes and promote governance awareness across an organisation.
