Practice Leader - Property Risk Consulting

About the role

Marsh is seeking a Practice Leader to lead its Property Risk Consulting (PRC) division within the Africa Risk Consulting business. The role is based in Sandton, on a hybrid basis with at least three days per week in the office, and focuses on growing the practice's strategy, client experience and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional, value-driven client experience and ensure PRC processes and deliverables meet client expectations
• Nurture strong relationships with key clients and lead senior practice involvement on major projects
• Build a positive, collaborative, high-performance team culture and mentor and develop talent
• Grow the business by developing existing client portfolios, sourcing new clients and leading business development, proposals, pricing and market positioning
• Own and manage the PRC division's P&L, monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, and drive revenue and net operating income growth
• Develop robust processes and controls to improve operational efficiency and delivery quality

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, Risk, Insurance or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in insurance, risk consulting or related sectors
• Proven leadership experience managing teams, ideally including engineers or technical specialists
• Deep knowledge of South African insurance markets and experience with large, listed corporate clients
• Experience in business development and P&L accountability
• Experience in property risk engineering or consulting

• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
