Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant (Fixed-Term) – Mokala Mall, Kuruman

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a reputable Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Mokala Mall store in Kuruman. The role involves providing pharmaceutical care, taking responsibility for patients' medicine‑related needs and ensuring accurate dispensing and stock management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the sale, compounding, manipulation and preparation of Schedule 1‑5 medicines and non‑sterile medicines according to SOPs.
• Manage stock control, ordering, receiving and merchandising of medicines up to Schedule 6, including bi‑annual stock takes.
• Interpret prescriptions, pick, pack, label and verify medication, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SAPC regulations.
• Provide patients with clear instructions on medication use, explain medical aid costs and process claims.
• Maintain customer profiles, merge records and report low‑stock or errors to the dispensary manager.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with a Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Fluent in English and a second language, with strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Attention to detail, numerical accuracy and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of retail/FMCG operations.
• Experience with Unisolv, SAP and E‑Scripting systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
