Porter – Guest Services

About the role

The Capital Hotels is seeking a dedicated Porter to be the first point of contact for our guests. You will welcome visitors, handle their luggage, and ensure the lobby and forecourt areas remain clean and inviting, delivering the highest standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests upon arrival.
• Assist guests with luggage, ensuring safe and courteous handling.
• Collect and distribute post and parcels throughout the hotel.
• Maintain the lobby and forecourt areas in a clean, tidy, and presentable condition.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries.
• Uphold the hotel’s hospitality standards in every interaction.

Required profile

• Matric (high school) qualification.
• Hands‑on problem‑solving approach and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Friendly, courteous, and service‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication with staff and guests.
• Honest, trustworthy, and attentive to detail.
• Presentable appearance and clear spoken language.
• Proactive, interpersonal skills and a team‑player mindset.
