Pool Technician - Luxury Hospitality

About the role

Pick Me Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Pool Technician for its client's luxury hospitality portfolio. The role involves managing a variety of daily tasks to keep pools sparkling clean and to respond quickly to maintenance requests, with minimal disruption to guests. Candidates must live in the Franschhoek area; the start date is a priority position.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to all pool-related issues, especially basic pool maintenance
• Vacuum the pool whenever it is dirty, keeping all pools clean at all times
• Test all pool water daily and report issues and leaks immediately, recording values and readings on daily check sheets
• Keep facilities and equipment around the pools well maintained and in good working order
• Complete duties with minimal interruption to guests and operations, and respond to maintenance requests as quickly as possible
• Reduce accidents, damage to equipment and loss of tools and supplies, and follow health and safety standards

Required profile

• Certification or qualification in pool and spa care and use of chemicals is beneficial
• Matric certificate and a valid driver's licence
• At least 2 years of general handyman experience, including pool servicing
• Experience in hotel or property maintenance is advantageous
• Must reside in the Franschhoek vicinity; only South African citizens or permanent residents are considered, and work permits are not accepted

Required skills

• Highly experienced in cleaning, filtration and maintenance of swimming pools
• Good knowledge of pool chemicals and basic electrical repair
• Knowledge of pool pumps, filters and pool heating pumps
• Able to work under pressure, communicate accurately and on time, and capture data and reports
