Plant Engineer

About the role

The Plant Engineer will support the Engineering Manager and processing operations to maintain world‑class efficiency, safety and sustainability within County Fair’s manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of processing and utility systems in line with the OHS Act.
• Drive continuous improvement of energy use, resource allocation and carbon footprint.
• Reduce equipment downtime through focused reliability and OEE initiatives.
• Plan, cost and deliver capital projects on schedule and within budget.
• Manage daily performance of key utilities such as energy, coal, refrigeration and water.
• Approve designs, calculations and specifications, ensuring compliance with safety and plant standards.
• Compile the annual maintenance budget and control costs.
• Interact with suppliers to source cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions that maximise uptime.

Required profile

• Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent B‑Tech).
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance/engineering experience in poultry, FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem‑solving, leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
