Planning and Supply Chain Executive

About the role

The role sits at the intersection of commercial planning and physical supply chain execution for a leading discount retailer operating across multiple African markets. As an Exco member, the executive will align inventory financial plans with logistics operations to drive profitability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to corporate strategy and ensure Planning and Supply Chain strategies support overall P&L targets.
• Lead the end‑to‑end sales, margin and inventory planning process, including demand forecasting and S&OP.
• Manage Open‑to‑Buy budgeting, stock allocation, replenishment and lifecycle management across channels.
• Oversee international and domestic freight, customs clearance, inbound logistics and warehousing capacity planning.
• Ensure outbound distribution meets delivery SLAs and build resilient fulfillment infrastructure.
• Mentor and develop leadership pipelines for both Planning and Supply Chain functions.
• Collaborate with Buying, Finance, Marketing and Operations teams to execute cohesive strategies.

Required profile

• Senior executive experience in both inventory planning and supply chain logistics.
• Proven ability to work at board level and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Experience managing multi‑country operations, preferably within the African retail sector.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on financial performance and operational efficiency.
