Pizza Chef – Authentic Italian Pizza Specialist

About the role

Alfie's Pizzeria & Deli is seeking an experienced Pizza Chef to craft authentic Italian pizzas for its busy Pretoria location. You will work in a fast‑paced, well‑established restaurant that values high‑quality food and consistent customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic Italian pizzas to a consistently high standard.
• Hand‑stretch dough using traditional techniques and manage dough fermentation.
• Operate wood‑fired ovens safely and efficiently.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
• Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and keep the pizza station clean and organised.
• Assist with menu development and seasonal specials as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a pizza chef in an authentic Italian restaurant or pizzeria.
• Proven experience with wood‑fired ovens and traditional pizza‑making methods.
• Strong understanding of dough preparation, fermentation, and quality control.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Team‑player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
