Pharmacy Assistant: Learner Basic

About the role

Unicare offers a structured pharmacy-assistance learnership in Bellville, combining practical work with theoretical training through the accredited Pharmacy Healthcare Academy. The pathway leads to a National Certificate in Pharmacy Assistance and a Further Education and Training Certificate in Pharmacist Assistance. Learners work under an approved tutor and a registered pharmacist. Applicants must sign a work-back agreement and work for Unicare as a qualified pharmacist assistant for at least the length of the learnership.

Key responsibilities

• Complete training contracts, interventions and competency assessments.
• Submit a Portfolio of Evidence.
• Support the pharmacy healthcare team under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Mathematics at least 50% or Mathematical Literacy at least 60%, and English at least 50%.
• Pass in Life Science (Biology) or Physics.
• Learnerships are for people with little or no experience; apply even if your CV is short.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Numeracy and attention to detail.
