Pharmacist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join our leading private healthcare group in Johannesburg. The role involves handling both hospital and retail pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and effective medication management for our patients.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense hospital and retail prescriptions accurately.
• Provide patients with advice on medication selection, dosage, potential interactions, side effects and therapeutic effects.
• Supervise acquisition, storage and dispensing of medicines, including oncology drugs, in line with pharmacy policies.
• Manage administrative and housekeeping tasks related to pharmacy operations.
• Prepare, issue and control oncology medications according to established procedures.
• Act as custodian for Schedule 5 & 6 drugs, complying with legal requirements.
• Record prescriptions and maintain documentation to meet legislative standards.

Required profile

• B.Pharm or Dip.Pharm degree (or equivalent NQF 7 qualification).
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Relevant experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
• Computer literacy.
