Pharmacist Intern – Valley Hyper, Nelspruit

About the role

Dis‑Chem is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to join the Valley Hyper store in Nelspruit. The internship provides hands‑on experience in a retail pharmacy environment, focusing on patient care, medication dispensing, and pharmacy operations under direct supervision of a qualified pharmacist.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing and labeling medicines, including Schedule 1‑6 substances, following standard operating procedures.
• Support compounding and preparation of sterile and non‑sterile medicines.
• Help with stock management, ordering, and re‑packaging of pharmaceutical products.
• Interpret prescriptions, verify patient details, and ensure accurate picking and packing of orders.
• Provide customers with medication usage instructions and health‑promotion information.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and enrollment in a BPharm (4‑year) programme.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Willingness to work during degree holidays and during scheduled shifts.
