Pharmacist – Bloemfontein (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified pharmacist to lead the pharmacy in Bloemfontein, Free State. The successful candidate will be legally responsible for all pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with South African regulations while delivering safe, high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Accept overall legal responsibility and accountability for the pharmacy’s operation.
• Implement, maintain, and monitor Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) standards.
• Supervise pharmacists, assistants, and support staff.
• Oversee safe procurement, storage, handling, and distribution of medicines, including scheduled substances.
• Maintain accurate stock control, monitor expiry dates, and prevent losses.
• Ensure accurate dispensing, documentation, and compliance with the pharmacy’s registered scope of practice.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure staff training and competency.

Required profile

• BPharm or equivalent degree in Pharmacy.
• Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Experience in retail, hospital, or industrial pharmacy settings.
• Sound knowledge of South African pharmacy laws, including the Medicines and Related Substances Act and Pharmacy Act.

Required skills

• Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) implementation.
• Controlled medicines (Schedules 4‑6) compliance.
• Accurate record‑keeping and documentation.
