About the role
MJM Recruitment is hiring a Buyer for a pharmaceutical client in Durban. The Buyer performs procurement and sourcing on behalf of the end user, meeting requirements for specifications, quality, delivery, timing and price. Each buyer is responsible for a specific category and may be rotated between categories or oversee more than one at a time.
Key responsibilities
- Procure goods and services and manage sourcing and vendors
- Handle project and tender work
- Prepare reports requested by the Procurement Manager, including purchase orders, purchase requisitions, N5 and V1 notifications, and update the alternative vendor and cost-savings spreadsheets
- Attend daily, weekly and monthly procurement meetings
Required profile
- Bachelor in Business Administration or Commerce, or CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply
- 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer
- Valid driver's licence and no criminal record
- Prior experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical organisations is advantageous
- Willingness to work an 8-hour shift, overtime and travel, and to work weekends and public holidays when needed
