About the role
eThekwini is looking for a Driver / Messenger in Durban. The role covers the transportation of material, equipment and personnel to and from sites, and provides a support service to the branch.
Key responsibilities
- Provide the messenger service for the branch.
- Carry out tasks and activities related to general office support.
- Undertake other relevant assignments when required.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- Valid motor vehicle driving licence.
- 3 months of relevant experience; 6 months preferred.
- Physically fit and able-bodied.
Required skills
- Workplace safety and vehicle safety.
- Driving behaviour and oral communication.
- Accountability and ethical conduct.
The role requires working in all weather conditions and being available outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.
