Personal Tax UK Associate

About the role

Our client, a growing UK‑based accountancy practice, is looking for an experienced Personal Tax Specialist to join their fully remote team. The role focuses on preparing UK Self‑Assessment returns and providing tax compliance support for a portfolio of individual clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit UK Self‑Assessment Tax Returns (SA100) for clients.
• Calculate personal tax liabilities and identify planning opportunities.
• Review client records and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve tax queries and obtain missing information.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC deadlines and filing requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, meeting multiple deadlines.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in UK tax legislation.
• Assist clients with tax‑efficient planning where appropriate.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience preparing UK Self‑Assessment Tax Returns.
• Strong understanding of UK Personal Tax legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Experience managing multiple client deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with UK tax software.
