Personal Tax Manager – UK Private Client Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Personal Tax Manager with strong UK private‑client experience to join our Sumer Offshore Services team in Johannesburg. The role operates in a hybrid model and supports our UK hubs on complex tax matters for high‑net‑worth individuals and families.

Key responsibilities

• Support UK private‑client hubs with tax advisory and compliance work.
• Prepare technical reports, analyses and coordinate specialist input as needed.
• Manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth clients, overseeing annual tax returns and related advice.
• Identify, resolve or appropriately escalate technical tax issues.
• Provide capital gains tax planning, inheritance tax guidance, trust and 10‑year charge advice, and assist with new company structures for investment or family businesses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in private‑client tax, specifically UK tax.
• Strong knowledge of inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts and estate planning.
• Experience delivering both advisory and compliance services for high‑net‑worth individuals, families and trusts.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA).
