People & Culture Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to partner with business units and operational leaders across South Africa. This strategic, hands‑on role will drive HR initiatives, ensure compliance with local labour laws, and support organisational growth at multiple operational sites.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business and operational leaders to design and implement People & Culture strategies aligned with business goals.
• Provide strategic HR support across remote and on‑site locations, including regular site travel.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and talent acquisition for critical positions.
• Drive performance management, talent development, succession planning and employee engagement programmes.
• Advise on organisational design, change management, remuneration and workforce planning.
• Manage all employee and labour relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, incapacity cases and dispute resolution.
• Represent the business at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations, ensuring compliance with the LRA, BCEA, EEA and other legislation.
• Oversee HR operations such as payroll governance, employee lifecycle, leave management and HR administration.
• Maintain accurate employee records in SAP SuccessFactors and continuously improve HR systems and processes.
• Coach and develop leaders to build a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• 8–15 years of progressive HR experience, including strategic HR Business Partner or People & Culture leadership.
• Proven experience supporting multiple remote or geographically dispersed operations in industrial, energy, utilities, mining, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Demonstrated site‑operations experience and close partnership with plant leadership.
