People Consultant

About the role

Smollan is seeking a People Consultant to help shape a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees feel cared for, happy, and inspired. The role focuses on fostering a positive culture and supporting employee growth across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment, selection and onboarding of new talent.
• Management of the Performance Management System.
• Design and delivery of training and development programmes within business units.
• Administration, data management and reporting on HR metrics.
• People management, teamwork and self‑management.
• Handling poor performance issues and industrial relations matters.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail or FMCG.
• Diploma or degree (NQF level 6 or 7) in Human Resources or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management, planning and prioritisation.
• Solid administration abilities.
